California, USA - October 14th 2021 - Interplay Entertainment are opening their playbook of classic smash-hits, starting off with a re-release from the famed Battle Chess series. Battle Chess 4000 is set to make its move on Steam on October 14th for $9.99/£9.99, with a 40% launch week discount. To celebrate the launch, Interplay are also releasing a Battle Chess Mega Bundle, allowing players to grab the original Battle Chess & Battle Chess: Enhanced, Battle Chess II: Chinese Chess and Battle Chess 4000 for a 30% discount across all three titles.
Offering old-school gameplay and unique ‘death’ animations when a piece is taken, each Battle Chess title has been updated to support macOS & Linux machines, while gaining quality of life improvements for Steam users, including Remote Play Together support.
As part of the drive to bring its classic pool of games to an entirely new generation of gamers, and on the back of a hugely successful re-release of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance, Interplay Entertainment will also update their back catalogue on the same day, providing Tux & Apple support for heavyweight titles such as Earthworm Jim, Stonekeep and Descent.
